Oral presentation: Atomic Energy

As always I always can do better but I do not have enough time to study my presentation. Maybe it was that I don't know how organize my time well. Although the presentation was able to memorize all the presentation it also would cost me to speak because I gain confidence when speaking in English. I guess I'm afraid of being wrong because there should have mistaken me learn more.
Something positive is supported visual presentation and the structure of job information.
I recognize also that I do not like making presentations and would prefer to make another type of activity. In this presentation I read so much because the exams had to study and they had more weight than the presentation. I hope to improve a lot my english this summer and improve my spoken English facing in the coming year.

Mad Mad World: Terrorific Morning

From my point of view the huge problem comes from boy's home. I mean, surely this boy has seen violence in his house and his parents tended to talk about these types of topics.

I'm almost sure that this guy made his weapon helped by a tutorial video from YouTube. It's one of the biggest variables that the society must bear in mind to avoid and decrease these cases.

Anyway, this is an attempt that is going to change the mind of the society and the politics will have to make changes to the school security.

Maybe it's necessary install a metal detectors at the enter of the high school. But I think it isn't a good solution for affront this terrible and moving happening.

A great solution would be the therapy by psychologists to the students who seem that they have problems or seem they are in a difficult moment of their lives for the marks, relations and all this stuff.

Earthquake in Nepal

On April 25th  2015, a 7.8 Nepal earthquake occurred as the result of thrust faulting on or near the main frontal thrust between the subducting India plate and the overriding Eurasia plate to the north. At the location of this earthquake, approximately 80 km to the northwest of the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu, the India plate is converging with Eurasia at a rate of 45 mm/yr towards the north-northeast, driving the uplift of the Himalayan mountain range. The preliminary location, size and focal mechanism of the April 25 earthquake are consistent with its occurrence on the main subduction thrust interface between the India and Eurasia plates. Although a major plate boundary with a history of large-to-great sized earthquakes, large earthquakes on the Himalayan thrust are rare in the documented historical era. Just four events of M6 or larger have occurred within 250 km of the April 25, 2015 earthquake over the past century. One, a M 6.9 earthquake in August 1988, 240 km to the southeast of the April 25 event, caused close to 1500 fatalities. The largest, an M 8.0 event known as the 1934 Nepal-Bihar earthquake, occurred in a similar location to the 1988 event. It severely damaged Kathmandu, and is thought to have caused around 10,600 fatalities.

I think is a hard new because lot of people have lost their hoses and families. We have to help as much as we can and make a thought for the countries and cities that have a difficult economic situation and suffer this kind of catastrophes. God bless Nepal.

Germanwings Accident

The co-pilot who crashed a Germanwings plane into a mountainside, had contacted dozens of doctors ahead of the disaster, a French prosecutor said Friday. Andreas Lubitz, who had a history of depression, put Flight 9525 into a rapid descent on March 24 and killed all 150 people on board. Brice Robin, the lead prosecutor in the investigation into the disaster, told The Associated Press late Thursday that Lubitz had also reached out to dozens of doctors in the period before the crash. Robin did not elaborate, or comment on whether the pilot had been seeking help for a particular ailment. He said he has received information from foreign counterparts and was reviewing it before a meeting with victims' relatives in Paris next week. In that closed-door meeting at the French Foreign Ministry, Robin will discuss his investigation and efforts to reduce administrative delays in handing over the victims' remains to grieving families, his office said Friday. Those remains are still in Marseilles, to the frustration of some families. Investigators say Lubitz intentionally crashed the jet after locking the captain out of the cockpit during a bathroom break. German prosecutors have said that Lubitz spent time online in the week before the crash researching suicide methods and cockpit door security — the earliest evidence of a premeditated act. Germanwings and parent company Lufthansa have said that Lubitz had passed all medical tests and was cleared by doctors as fit to fly.

I'm completely furious because for the bad moment that is spending one person so many others have to pay it with the death. It is really unfairly. Since this accident and the cause has provoked it, all the airplane companies will revise and will modifier more than one security system. The pilots will be more analyzed before drive a airplane and they will have to pass more and harder steps (connected to psychology mainly) to become a airplane pilot.

Amazing surgery reconstruction

I am currently studying 1^st Batxillerat in Castelló d’Empúries High School and lessons finish on 19^th June. Therefore, I can start working in Camping Amfora by the end of June. I live in Castelló d’Empúries and I can easily come to the camping because I have a motorbike.

Regarding languages, I am a bilingual speaker of Catalan and Spanish. I speak English and French fluently and I also know Italian. In 2012 I got a B2 certificate in English as you will see on my CV.

As previous experience, I have worked as a waitress in a bar called El Mar for two months last summer (July and August 2014). I have worked as a shop assistant too.

Opinion essay: Liberal Eugenics

Personally I think liberal eugenics shouldn’t be practiced mainly because of the violation of the dignity and freedom of genetic modified beings because they would have been created, not by chance and by natural selection only by artificial selection arbitrary tastes third perhaps they do not like.

Basing myself in Kant and his categorical ethical, is not moral that the parents of an individual design and modify their genetic material that provides the desired image in the fashion or social movement that dominated at that time. Trying to improve our children the maximum we would get that liberal eugenics that were governed by market supply and demand. This would mean that we would instrumentalizing a rational being, whether for good or for bad, and therefore we don’t respect the categorical imperative of Kant, but we rely on a more materialistic and utilitarian ethics as the Mill. By this way, the identity, dignity and autonomy of children are affected because they are not born with characteristics determined by random natural selection, but their parents have designed a certain way by their interest and their tastes in a completely arbitrary and directed toward certain choices in life that makes them, at the same time, less free.

The liberal eugenics would also allow people to pay richest genetic therapies (which would be very expensive) to improve their children to be better than the others. This attitude is conditioned by competitive society there is today.

Overcrowding would be a serious problem for humanity as genetic modification achieved much lower mortality. People today tend to be selfish and worry about their particular interests, which makes one of the most desired goals there is longevity, causing overcrowding imminent. A serious problem would also be the lack of variability and would, in case of epidemic many people would die and it would affect in the evolution of the human species.

The result would be an instrumentalization of mankind together with the loss of dignity, freedom and autonomy of the people "enslaved" and poor, while the rich were living the life that everybody wants and, in turn, enriched by the others.

This may lead to a 3rd world war and constant rebellions in an unstable world, full of mistrust and exhausted values ​​and human rights.

   

Different way to work

A point that was very supportive to do these activities well and comfort was the fact that we could choose the groups we wanted to work with. It has been easier to communicating between group members and distributes better the work because we knew very well among us and we knew what to do each one. By this way, we were able to do the activities with our best.

Working with the group has enabled us to improve communication among the members thereof, which has made us better organization, participation, cooperation and collaboration to carry out successfully the requested activities.

We distributed work fairly easily. Some had wanted to make it clear that they wanted schemes and other activities. There was no discussion or misunderstanding, clarify any doubt without any complication talking to members of the group.

Honestly, I think I've been a wonderful group where we all worked hard to do the activities the best we colud, without any fuss or problem that could break the good cooperation and organization with which we worked. I add that I like such classes because it leaves the routine that is followed throughout the course and you can learn new things so easily because it passes well with peers.
